Easter Devotional
As we approach Easter, we pause to walk again through the sacred story that stands at the center of our faith — the suffering of Good Friday and the victory of Easter morning. We do not rush past the cross to get to the empty tomb. We linger, because it is in both that we see our Living Hope most clearly.
Good Friday reminds us that hope is not found in comfort, but in sacrifice.
On that day, Jesus willingly entered the deepest places of human pain — betrayal, injustice, suffering, and death. The cross looked like defeat. It looked like the end of the story. The disciples believed all hope was gone.
Yet even there, God was at work.
When Jesus cried, “It is finished,” a declaration that the work of redemption was complete. Sin was paid for. Separation was overcome. The door back to life with God was opened.
Easter morning reminds us that hope is alive.
The stone was rolled away, not so Jesus could get out, but so the world could see that death had been defeated. The resurrection proves that nothing is beyond the reach of God’s power — not sin, not failure, not broken churches, not weary leaders, not seasons of uncertainty.
Because Christ lives, hope lives.
At VitalChurch Ministry, we see this truth lived out again and again. We step into places where churches feel discouraged, uncertain, or at a crossroads — moments that can feel like Good Friday. And time after time, God brings resurrection. He restores vision. He renews leaders. He breathes life where it once felt like the story was over.
This Easter, may you be reminded that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is still at work today.
If you are in a season that feels like Good Friday, hold on.
Sunday is coming.
Christ is risen.
He is risen indeed.
And because He lives, we have a living hope.
