PASTORS, WITH PASTORS’ HEARTS
VitalChurch Ministry is a unique organization, working in and around Indianapolis to revitalize churches that find themselves in times of transition or crisis. Our experienced team of interim pastors and church diagnostic experts use a proven three-phase process to guide churches to new places of hope and healing, ready to call a new pastor.
Interim Pastors for Indianapolis Churches
At one time or another, almost every church will find itself in a difficult time. This can happen for a variety of reasons—a church crisis, such as the abrupt removal or death of a senior pastor, conflict among members of the congregation, or it could be the result of a set of circumstances that have come about gradually over a number of years. Sometimes, the fresh perspective of an intentional interim pastor can make all the difference.
Every church has its own unique set of circumstances. Our team will first perform a diagnostic assessment to find out what is hindering your church from being the vital place it could be. The issues that surface may surprise you. One of our interim pastors will then spend time at your Indianapolis church, guiding your church through the issues that were uncovered in the diagnostic assessment. An interim pastor will also serve alongside existing church leadership, provide biblically-sound teaching, direct your church to where we see God leading it, and help facilitate the search for the next lead pastor, if needed.
When the interim period has concluded and your church has been restored to a healthy, vibrant place, we provide follow-up coaching to make sure that the solutions that were implemented during the interim period continue to serve your church well.
Support for Indianapolis Denominations
In addition to working with churches in Indianapolis as interim pastors, VitalChurch Ministry also works with denominations in several different capacities. Our experienced team of interim pastors provides training for denominational interim pastors, and also serves as interim pastors in denominational churches in Indianapolis. In doing so, we work with the existing church leadership, as well as with denominational leadership, in order to bring about needed change within the church, and to help the church search and prepare for their next senior pastor.
VitalChurch can also provide diagnostic analysis for groups of churches in a particular region, or for the denomination as a whole. We have worked with a wide variety of denominations, helping them answer specific questions or identify issues within their member churches, and providing actionable solutions.
Our Process of Church Revitalization
The process to true church revitalization is not an easy one, but for those Indianapolis churches willing to put in the work and tackle their issues, it can be very rewarding! VitalChurch has developed a three-step process that has served many churches well. The three phases of the process are:
We are often asked if we will provide just an interim pastor for a church, or just consulting services, but our years of experience as intentional interim pastors have taught us that all three steps are vital if you want to see true, lasting change in your church. Our goal is not just to provide an interim pastor to “fill in the gap” until your church can find a new pastor, or to offer advice or coaching. We want churches to be revitalized, and the only way we know how to do that is to take churches through our full church restoration process.
Pastors, With Pastors’ Hearts
There are many individuals and organizations, both in Indianapolis and nationally, that can provide your church with someone to fill the pulpit on a Sunday morning. There are also consulting organizations that can offer advice to your Indianapolis church. The interim pastors at VitalChurch Ministry offer much more than that. They are pastors with a distinct passion for seeing churches revitalized and changed.
Each of our interim pastors has the heart of a pastor and brings his own unique pastoral gifts to the Indianapolis churches in which he serves. Our interim pastors will not come to your church to maintain the status quo, but will ask church leaders and members to make changes, some of which may be difficult.
