As VitalChurch Ministry continues to reach more churches in need, we have been growing our team in response. More interim pastors have been hired and trained and sent out to churches throughout the country. Our staff and volunteer team have been expanded and people already within the organization are taking on new responsibilities.
We’d like to introduce you to two women who have recently taken on key leadership roles in our organization.
The first is Rosemary Lukens, who was named as a member of our Board of Directors in January. Rosemary has been a dedicated volunteer with VitalChurch since 2018, serving in our diagnostic division. Her discernment, compassion, and wisdom have made her a helpful addition on every project with which she has assisted.
Rosemary comes to VitalChurch with a strong background in both coaching and human resources. She has worked with various nonprofit organizations, hospitals, local governments, universities, and churches to help them improve performance and optimize talent, while creating a culture that embraces change. She has an MA in Coaching and Consulting in Organizations, and currently serves on the National Leadership Team of the Evangelical Presbyterian Church.
Rosemary says,
Like VitalChurch, I am passionate about helping troubled/dysfunctional church leaders reengage with their Call from God for themselves and the church, and engage in a meaningful and intentional dialogue to move the Kingdom forward in every community.”
In her personal life, Rosemary is married to David. Together they have three children and seven grandchildren, as well as two “bonus” grandchildren from England.
The second woman we’d like to introduce you to is Laurel Schumacher. Laurel has been with VitalChurch for several years, serving as our Communications Manager. She was recently promoted to Chief Operating Officer. Laurel will be taking on many of the day-to-day operations at VitalChurch, which include marketing and communications, fundraising and donor relations, and human resources.
Prior to coming to VitalChurch, Laurel was the assistant director of alumni relations at Long Island University Brooklyn. She also has a background in education, having taught at the high school and college levels.
Laurel can be described as driven, passionate, enthusiastic, highly organized, and resourceful. She loves to learn and has a deep desire to always be growing in every aspect of her professional and personal life.
She says,
I’m excited to step into this new role and continue to serve with this amazing team of people who love the local church and desire to be used by God to create lasting change that moves beyond the church walls. It’s truly a privilege to serve the hurting churches who seek VitalChurch’s help, and I love to see the way God uses our team to transform churches into healthy, vibrant places on a mission for Christ.”
We hope you will join us in welcoming Rosemary and Laurel to their new roles at VitalChurch!
