At one time or another, almost every church will find itself in a state of transition or crisis. Sometimes the situation arises out of a significant, one-time event (abrupt loss or departure of a senior pastor, staff misconduct, major conflict over a singular issue). For other churches, it is a series of issues or years of problems that have led them to a difficult season. Whatever the cause, churches in transition or crisis are often rudderless, aimless, and confused.
VitalChurch is made up of a team of pastors who are called to the unique ministry of helping churches through times of transition or crisis. We do this through a proven, biblically-based process that leads churches to a place of healing, hope, and revitalization.
Our process includes three phases: Diagnostic Analysis (diagnosing the root problems and giving churches an accurate view of their current reality), Intentional Interim Pastorate (bringing in a VitalChurch pastor for transitional leadership), and Follow Up (ongoing coaching with church leaders). We are passionate about the church, and we work to bring about real and lasting change in every church we serve.
Who We Work With
Most often, we find ourselves in churches that have lost a senior pastor due to death, misconduct, or an abrupt departure. However, we also work with churches that have seen years of long, drawn-out decline, those with major recurring issues, and those that sense the need for a change, but don’t know how to go about it. In all situations, we work alongside existing leadership to discern what the Holy Spirit is saying to the church, and to bring about transformation together.
In order for our process to be successful, churches must be:
- Willing to face and deal with, the real issues, regardless of how difficult it may be to do so
- Open to change
- Willing to take ownership of their part of the problem
- Willing to listen to the Holy Spirit and do what He is saying
VitalChurch has worked with Christ-centered churches for more than 20 years, preparing them to be vital and vibrant places, ready to call a new pastor.
