As a city within the “Bible Belt,” Charlotte, North Carolina has its share of Christian churches. Most likely, at any given time, there are multiple churches within Charlotte that could benefit from an interim pastor. It could be that a church’s pastor resigned abruptly or is suffering from an illness that keeps him from his pastoral duties. Or perhaps a church is experiencing some major conflict and needs an outside perspective to help resolve their internal issues. Whatever the case may be, we encourage any church in Charlotte to contact VitalChurch Ministry to learn more about how our interim pastors can help.
Our three-phase approach to interim pastor ministry has been utilized in many churches to revitalize congregations, bringing them back to a place of intimacy with God and helping them better reach their communities with the gospel.
The VitalChurch Three-Phase Approach
Any time our team works with a new church, we always start with a diagnostic analysis. Even if your church isn’t facing a particularly difficult season right now, it can still benefit from this. On our staff, we have experts in church diagnostics, who can provide your Charlotte church with an in-depth assessment. The results of your church’s assessment will give you helpful information about your congregation and will also tell you what your church is doing well and what areas could use improvement.
If, after your church’s assessment, it’s determined that it could benefit from some outside help, we will send one of our intentional interim pastors to your church for an extended period of time—typically one to two years. While he is there, the interim pastor will address the root issues that were brought to light in the diagnostic analysis. Under the guidance of the Holy Spirit, he will humbly guide your church through whatever changes need to be made. He can help with anything from conflict resolution to church staff reorganization to the development of discipleship or outreach programs. He can also guide the search process for your church’s next lead pastor, if needed.
Our interim pastors are called specifically to the ministry of interim pastoring. They are gifted teachers of the Word, as well as Spirit-led leaders who deeply love the church.
Once your interim pastor has completed his time at your Charlotte church, you will enter the follow-up coaching phase of our process. VitalChurch Ministry will check in regularly with your church’s leadership to ensure that the changes that were implemented continue to serve your church well.
Services for Denominational Churches and Denominations in Charlotte
Our interim pastors don’t just serve in nondenominational churches in Charlotte. We are also able to help churches that are part of a denomination. When we work with denominational churches, we choose an interim pastor who is the best fit for that church and communicate regularly with denominational leadership to keep them informed.
We’ve also worked directly with denominational offices by providing training for their own teams of interim pastors. In addition, we can provide regular diagnostic assessments for churches within a denomination. The assessments can be tailored to each individual church, or we can do a more general assessment of multiple churches within the denomination.
Interim Pastors, Not Church Consultants
Our interim pastors come to churches to minister, serve alongside the staff and lay leaders, and help effect change. They have pastors’ hearts and care deeply about seeing churches revitalized. Some churches in Charlotte could benefit from the services of a church consultant, but if your church needs more than what a consultant offers, contact us at VitalChurch Ministry. We can talk to you in depth about our ministry and learn more about your church to see how we can help.
